How it Began

My passion for the Latin culture dates way back to when I was only seven years old.  Travelling with my parents at the Mediterranean, provided me with such inspiration and strong desire that I never overcame that love-struck feeling.  Being born and raised in Iceland but moving to Denmark in my late teens, I was destined to fulfill my ambitions and move to a place where my heart belonged.

How it Evolved

Curious by nature and with huge desire to travel, I visited most of Europe and many amazing countries around the world.  Being fortunate that languages came relatively easy to me, I was able to involve with different cultures, giving me invaluable knowledge and an ocean of experience.  My horizon was wide open and interest in the Mexican people was evident for their ancient history, heritage and of course their amazing food culture.  A gastronomic bond and fascination of their society was established and I set my sight on visiting their interesting country.

Spain

However, as the years went on and I finally settled down in Southern Spain, after my studies at the universities of Granada and Barcelona, I chose Marbella as my temporary residents.  A melting pot of 78 nationalities and languages, wrapped into a proud Spanish society, I felt very much at home.  Here I started my professional real estate carrier and represented some of the finest homes in Europe.  My career lead me too exciting projects around Europe and the world, that spanned to countries such as Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland, Poland, Montenegro, Italy, France, Portugal, Cap Verde, Bulgaria, Cypress, Dubai, Egypt, USA, Argentina and Brazil.

Mexico

However, Mexico still remained unchartered territory to me but that was about to change as my desire to visit this great country hadn’t vanished.  Therefore, one Christmas in the midst of the 2008 financial crisis I hopped onto a plane and like many others I ended up at the Riviera Maya.  A direct charter flight to the wonders of the Mayan world and yes of course all-inclusive.  I took all the possible day trips available to me, and lost myself in the Yucatán Peninsula with all its natural wonders, mind blowing cultural sites and exotic cuisine.  The all-inclusive hotel, well that was just a place to sleep…

Hooked

Needless to say, I was hooked!  The next few years, I made it into a tradition to visit Mexico and to explore different parts of this wonderful country.  This let me to the discovering of Puerto Vallarta, an interesting recommendation by I proud Mexican from Mérida who was living in the States but totally convinced that I would just love it.  Oh man, was he right!

Puerto Vallarta

Not only did it impress with its natural settings, having Sierra Madre proudly standing in the background and the magnificent Pacific Ocean at its feet.  The people, yes… I repeat the people of Puerto Vallarta, what a lovely place to be.  Seldom in my travelling had I come across such gentle spirited people, truly genuine and humble but with a huge appetite for life.  It was not just a one-night fling but a love affair set to last for a lifetime.

Finally, in 2014 I took the plunge!  No different from so many others, unable to resist I made Puerto Vallarta my home.  A decision that I will never regret and a love story without an end.  I had finally found my place under the sun.
